Background

Douglas Scott has been practicing in the areas of creditor’s rights, commercial law, bankruptcy, and federal civil litigation. Mr. Scott’s significant expertise in bankruptcy includes consumer credit laws, lien perfection, collections and exemptions.

Education

Mr. Scott received his JD from Wake Forest University School of Law. He received his masters degree from The College of William and Mary, Marshall-Wythe School of Law, Williamsburg, Virginia, in 1993.

Admission

He is admitted to practice law before the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Virginia, United States District Court for the Middle,Western and Eastern District of North Carolina, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, United States Tax Courts as well as for the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of Bar Association of the City of Richmond.
