eStyle, Inc. Filed Lawsuits Against One Hundred and Forty Two (142) Creditors.
eStyle Inc.,the Los Angeles retailer of baby and maternity products, filed 142 lawsuits against its creditors last month between 03/17/2010 – 03/19/2010 to recover allegedly voidable preferential transfers under Chapter 11 Section 547 of the Bankruptcy Code.
Robert Kelleher, the largest creditor in the group has been sued for $39,334,422. The three other high- value complaints in the group were filed against Yvonne Besvold for return of $26,292,088, Gilbert Companies for $23,062,370 and Juicy Couture, Inc. for $10,852,745.00. Some of the other creditors include Cloud B, DZ Studio, Bellweather Properties Group, LP, EGL Eagle Global Logistics, DZ Trading, Ltd, The Little Giraffe, Inc., Ingrid & Isabel, Kliger-Weiss Information Systems Inc. etc. eStyle, Inc., had been engaged in the design, manufacture, procurement, advertising, distribution, and sale of clothing, equipment, toys, and accessories. It offered maternity and baby clothes, nursery furnishings, baby gear products, infant developmental products, kid’s clothes, fashions for children's rooms, toys, gifts, and gift registry products. The company served women, infants, and children through its Web site, stores, and catalogs in the United States. It was founded in 1999 with headquarters in Los Angeles, California..
On March 19, 2008, eStyle Inc. filed a voluntary petition for reorganization under Chapter 11 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California, Los Angles Division. The U.S. case is In re eStyle, Inc. Bankruptcy Judge Samuel L. Bufford is presiding over this case. The plaintiff has retained The Margulies Law Firm to represent them as counsels.
